When a beloved and innocent relative is accidentally killed, how far would you go to serve your own brand of justice to the people who are responsible? Developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft, Watch Dog is a single-player/multiplayer action-adventure video game for the PS4 console which banks on hacker, stealth and parkour elements, along with high-end graphics, to give you a compelling gaming experience. This game received a PEGI rating of 18 for depictions of violence, strong language and gambling. It is set in an alternate version of Chicago where a computer hacker is found to have been responsible for the Northeast blackout of 2003. Due to the aforementioned disaster, the Blume Corporation sets up the ctOS (Central Operating System), a supercomputer which gives centralized control over and access to personal information, electricity grids, traffic lights, surveillance cameras, subway lines and much more. In Watch Dogs, you get to play as Aiden Pierce, a vigilante and grey hat hacker, who, after the death of his niece, sets out on a path of vengeance to bring the perpetrators of his niece’s death to justice. Presented in third-person perspective, the gameplay of Watch Dogs requires the player to complete numerous objectives so as to progress through the linear storyline. One can also roam the open-world environment when not performing missions. Hack the ctOS via your in-game smartphone and take control of traffic lights, subway lines and more to cause diversions and stop your enemies. Access personal information to locate targets or access bank data to steal funds. Explore the city by taking a high-octane drive in one of the many cars that are available in-game. A host of powerful weapons can be used to eliminate threats and accomplish tasks. What’s more? The online multiplayer mode lets up to 8 players to participate in competitive and cooperative gameplay in a recreated single-player setting.
