Vermont Is Where You Find It

This is a book of Vermont pictures and old-fashioned Vermont humor. The black-and-white photographs on every right-hand page show the state in the days of hill farms, dirt roads lined with stone walls and spreading elms, fields of corn shocks, split-rail fences, and horse pastures on pristine lake shores. The humor involves lines like "The whole world may be going to hell, but we ain't got time to worry about the details," and "When I think of what you have meant to me for all these years, sometimes it's more than I can stand not to tell you so." The book can be read in about five minutes, but I keep going back to look at the pictures and to laugh again at the old jokes. You don't have to be a Vermonter to enjoy this book, but you'll wish you were.
