Mr. Pickens' reminiscences of his years tramping and riding across the state as an officer with the New Mexico Game & Fish Department and other agencies. Homer Pickens was the man who took Smokey the Bear, as a cub, to Washington after he was rescued from a forest fire in southern New Mexico. This new edition has an introduction by Homer's son, Homer Pickens, Jr. and includes a nice collection of never before published photos.
