Get the full set here and star creating today: About the Hygenus Star Atlas of 1482 The Star Maps Collection has been inspired by the Hygenius Star Atlas of 1482, faded star maps and my own lifelong personal fascination with astrology, its symbols and cycles. The arcane, ancient star maps and characters herald from The Hygenius Star Atlas of 1482 a book about the stars and corresponding collection of woodblock prints depicting constellations with their mythological namesakes. According to the Public Domain Review: The relative positions of the stars in the woodcuts bear little resemblance to the descriptions given by Hyginus in the text or the actual positions of the stars in the sky. As a result of the inaccuracy of the depicted star positions and the fact that the constellations are not shown with any context, the Poeticon astronomicon is not particularly useful as a guide to the night sky. Taking cues from the illustrators of the original Star Atlas, my designs are artistic imaginations and bear little resemblance to actual astrological positions in the night sky.
