Enzo Ferrari - whose name ranks with Henry Ford and Ettore Bugatti - died in his Italian home town on August 14th 1988. He was a giant of the twentieth century: the cars he created are known all over the world and his influence has been immense, yet throughout ninety years of life he remained an almost mythical character.
