The Holy Bible: World English Bible

The World English Bible was translated with one goal: to have an accurate, readable, public domain translation that belongs to the church. Utilizing the American Standard Version (ASV) as the base translation, editors and volunteers worked hard to update the ASV’s language to reflect contemporary vernacular. Further, they utilized the Majority Text to better inform the New Testament for accuracy while maintaining textual variants in footnotes. The result is: a literal, readable, contemporary translation designed for personal and family reading, devotions, in-depth study, preaching, teaching, and publications for the life of the church and for the glory of God.Renewed Christian Living would like to thank the original translators and editors of the ASV, though they have departed, may their commitment to God's Word continue to speak. Furthermore, we are indebted to and grateful for Michael Johnson and the team of volunteers and translators who brought the WEB into being for their diligence and heart in putting this translation into the hands of the church for our usage.
