Nina Sheeran's patience and kindness were key factors in fulfilling her ambition to become a State Registered Nurse. Training at the Middlesex Hospital, London (1950-1953) was hard work, challenging, often fun, but - most importantly - it was rewarding. Nina's account of those three years unfolds in a series of honest and almost daily letters to her parents and diary entries, giving valuable insight into nursing practices at that time. The greater simplicity of life in the early 1950s is apparent as she recalls events, socialising and also the poignant journey towards her marriage. Tealeaves Under The Bed (who can remember this successful cleaning practice?!) is a refreshing joy to read - a legacy for future generations. Wonderful!
