Strongman is inspired by 1980's hand lettering and graffiti, with no particular direct inspiration source. It is a heavy-weight, clunky beast to inspire and amaze - much like the strongmen of old carnival days. It didn't really evolve from any specific reference, but was instead inspired by the vague memory and impression of what graffiti of the 80's looked like. It's easy now to look back and realize there are hints of inspiration there, but it is more out of my head than authentic in any way. Nonetheless, the memory of it had me filled to the brim with ideas to play with while fleshing it out. I hope you'll have as much fun using the font as I had creating it.
