States and Rulers in Later Medieval Europe

This book comprises an account of the later medieval states which views the period from 1300 to 1500 primarily in terms of the balance betweeen ruler and country. Features of this study of the later Middle Ages are that it ranges across Western Europe and considers the period as more than the transition between the "medieval" and "modern" state.
