Shamans Publisher: Tampere Museums Year: 1998 Authors: Yevgenia Alekseyevna Alekseyenko, Vera Pavlovna Dyakonova, Ake Hultkrantz, and Ildiko Lehtinen, and Chuner Mikhailovich. The Shamans publication is the product of the cooperation between Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography named after Peter the Great, National Museum of Finland, and Tampere Museums. It complements the Shamans exhibition of Vapriikki and the Journey to Siberia exhibition of Hame Museum. The core material of the Shamans exhibition consists of the unique shaman collection of the the Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography named after Peter the Great, Kunstkamera, founded by Peter the Great in the 1720's. It had never before been displayed on such a wide scale. Thus, special attention was given to compiling the catalogue of objects of the publication so that, together with the articles, it can serve researchers and other interested parties even after the exhibition.
