Savannah Square by Square

Savannah Square by Square is a handsome coffee table book featuring more than 300 full color photographs of each of Savannah's beautiful, historic downtown squares. Author Michael Jordan, a noted local filmmaker and historian, reveals the fascinating history of each of the 22 existing squares, as well as the two lost squares and Savannah's "other squares"-- Forsyth Park and Colonial Park Cemetery. Original line drawings by illustrator and designer Mick McCay are included alongside images captured by local photographers Les Wilkes, Constance McCay, and Phil Hodgkins. The book includes a foreword by Georgia Historical Society Senior Historian Dr. Stan Deaton. Publisher Historic Savannah Foundation is the nonprofit organization responsible for spearheading the historic preservation movement in Savannah starting in the 1950s.
