Return of the Maya

Recounts the odyssey of a Maya child who goes into exile in Mexico, but returns to his homeland in Guatemala as an adult many years later. It reveals the trauma of the refugee experience. The protagonist reminiscences on the painful journey and the tragic circumstances that led to this sad exodus. This is not only a physical and material return, but also s return to the values of culture andentity, as part of the contemporary Maya renaissance in Guatemala.
