This is a fantastic educational toy that is made of children friendly and environmental friendly material. This is a DIY (Do-It-Yourself) kit and the included manual helps to assemble the product. The train moves under sunlight and stops under shadow. No batteries required. This product teaches the benefits of renewable energy. This solar bullet train is an excellent beginner building kit designed to teach how solar power is used to drive a small motor. It can work well not only on sunny days, but also on rainy days or at night by using a 50 watt halogen light to replace solar power. You will need additional tools: i) Screw driver ii) Scissor/Diagonal cutter b) First test the solar panel in the direct sunlight so that when the panel is under sunlight, the motor starts functioning. Then after the train building is finished, just test the engine first in the sunlight. If it is not running immediately (sometimes, due to poor sunlight), do not panic as you have already tested the solar panel and it was functioning. Just give a little push, then it will run on its own. Once it is running, it will only stop when it faces any shadow. You can also try your hand shadow to stop it. Then, attach second carriage and test again. Then, attach the last carriage.
