Robert Doni, a sixty-year-old prosecutor in Milan, has to face the appeal from a Tunisian builder accused of committing a scandalous crime. While he is willing to plead guilty, a young journalist tries to convince Doni to ask for his acquittal; he says he can prove the builder's innocence.
