Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! is an RPG game developed by GameFreak, the Japanese studio that created all the games from world-famous Pokémon series. The game gives players an opportunity to explore the Kanto region, the home to characters like Misty, Brock, and even infamous Team Rocket trio -Jessie, James, and Meowth. Gameplay The main gameplay elements in the game are the exploration and catching new species of Pokémon. The creatures can be later trained and used in duels against other trainers, or wild Pokémon we encounter during our adventure. Fights in the game are traditionally played in the famous turn-based system. In the game, players will come across many different types of Pokémon and each of them has different strengths and weaknesses. For example, a Fire-type Pokémon will do great against any Grass-type, but it will not do a lot of damage to a Water-type, etc. While exploring the Kanto region, players can test their skills in places called Pokémon Gyms, where they can duel with a challenging Gym Leader. In order to enter the Gym and face its leader the player needs to meet certain conditions, for example, have a specific Pokémon type. If you manage to beat the Gym Leader, you'll receive one of Pokémon Trainer Badges, depending on the Gym. During the adventure, players can collect 8 Badges: Boulder Badge, Cascade Badge, Thunder Badge, Rainbow Badge, Soul Badge, Marsh Badge, Volcano Badge, and Earth Badge. After collecting all of them, they can undertake the ultimate test of their skills and challenge the Pokémon League to become the Champion. In order to get the title, players must defeat each member of the Elite Four: Lorelei, a master of Icy-type Pokémon, Bruno, who is specializing in Fighting-type Pokémon, Agatha, using Ghost-type Pokémon, and Lance, the final member who uses powerful Dragon-type Pokémon. The game features 151 Pokémon species known from the first generation and an additional one, a totally new Pokémon that was not available in any other game of the franchise.
