The book provides first-hand accounts of what life was like for these men in childhood, adolescence and leading up to marriage, the marriage itself, and the meaning the men now make of their marriages as part of their whole life experience. Attention is given to the various kinds of support, or lack of it, in their lives as well as the role of religion.
