A collection of the best black and white photographs of Warren McGee and Ronald Nixon of railroads in the Pacific Northwest from 1930-1970, including the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific, the Great Northern, the Northern Pacific, the Spokane, Portland & Seattle, the Union Pacific, the Butte, Anaconda & Pacific, and the Spokane International railroads. One chapter is in color. With introductions by McGee and Nixon. This book was issued after the warm response given to "Northern Pacific Railway of McGee and Nixon," also by Green, but is a different book. Almost 350 photos of the locomotives in action, covering steam electric and diesel, from Mikados and Northerns to Pacifics and Prairies. Includes several maps which pinpoint where the photos were taken. Perfect for the modeler as the environment in each shot, whether in the mountains or at a station, can be clearly seen. 262 pages.
