Old School Rave Flyer Template

This acid rave poster was inspired by the Severed Head's song: The Dead Eyes Opened. This stone-cold Australian classic was released in 1983 and then re-released in 1994. Featuring a hefty eye character originally created in Procreate, this piece has a stippled texture to achieve that mint retro feel. Coincidentally the use of eyes and eyeballs in rave art is prolific, some say that the designer wanted to create an eye-catching design LOL . But perhaps the real reason is that dilated pupils were ravers under the influence. Something the bloody fascist bobby would never understand! The retro synthwave 80s grid and the iconography of the classic melted hand from ACID is soooo of its time. Moreover, it transports the viewer into the inebriating acid raves of the early 1990s. If you listen closely you can hear them chant "We live for the nights nobody remembers, with people we will never forget", "Stop Wars Start Raves" and they will always chant...."Rave Together Stay Together". The hand-drawn space is all vector and this undertone enlights one to the proposition that the universe and outer space make one sPACe OUt! Interchangeable to the Timothy Leary counterculture phrase "Turn on, tune in, drop out". One could say verbatim: "take some acid, drop some pills and let the music take you on a journey!" This design is grassroots-inspired, proper, bonified, rave vibes, that wouldn't look out of place next to other classic collectible rave party memorabilia. Indeed this rave party flyer depiction legitimately possesses vehement colours so bold that they could be read in a chemical narcosis.
