The author argues that it is only when golfers recognize the importance of mental skills that they can fully exploit their strengths and realize their potential. He shows how mental discipline can be exercised by, for example, goal-setting, improving concentration, relaxing and paying attention to visual, auditory and kinaesthetic focus, and explains the left/right brain theory to help golfers to understand their own strengths and weaknesses.
