Cutting a wide-diameter kerf is simple with the Milwaukee® 3-Inch SDS-MAX and SPLINE Carbide Tipped Thick Wall Core Bit. This bit is specifically designed to work on masonry, including seasoned or cured concrete. This 3-inch wide bit initially cuts a 4-1/16 inch depth, 3-inch diameter kerf in thick walls. After cutting the kerf, you can remove the center core and cut deeper if necessary. You can use it with either 12-inch or 18-inch adapter shanks to make it operate as an SDS-MAX core bit. These adapters, along with the guide plate and centering pin allow greater precision when cutting. Adapter shanks also exist in the same sizes allowing use of a core bit as a spline core bit. This masonry drill bit also works with a 7-1/2 inch extension when drilling deeper kerfs after core removal, giving you greater leverage.
