Microplane Premium Classic Spice Grater - Red

This rounded grater is originally a rasp from the woodshop. Updated for the kitchen to include a soft-touch handle the curved blade makes fast work of hard spices. The smaller size is easy to keep in a drawer and keep exclusively for use with spices. The Microplane Spice Grater can also grate hard cheese but the Spice Grater is best suited for use with hard spices such as cinnamon or nutmeg. Why use fresh ground spices? Hard spices in their original form last longer than pre-ground spices; they also are more aromatic because they retain their oils. Freshly grounded spices just taste better.
