While the properties of each vary, they essentially all have the same purpose, which is to be used for medium diffusion at varying degrees. White Artificial Silk offers the most diffusion at a light loss of 1.6 stops with a significant amount of ambient bounce (its counter, Black Silk offers no ambient bounce).
