The tool's lightweight 5.3-pound design is only 12-1/8 inches long, reducing fatigue on long jobs. The design of the Makita angle grinder also makes use of Makita's Super Joint System®, which extends motor life by allowing drive shaft slippage if the grinding wheel suddenly stops. Labyrinth style construction seals also prevent dust and flak from infiltrating the motor compartment, further reducing tool maintenance time.
