Introduction to the Theory of Integration

The subject matter presented is essentially the classical theory of Stieltjes and Lebesgue integration. In that way it is reactionary relative to the present style of graduate mathematical instruction, which veers strongly toward the abstract and sometimes overlooks the concrete basic ideas. The abstract is also included, however, with a look at the ideas which form the basis of abstract procedures in the theory of integration.
