The weather report for the next few days doesn't bode well. A powerful blizzard is prophesied, with heavy snowfalls, gale-force winds and temperatures falling down to 15 degrees Celsius below zero. We were urgently advised that now was not the right time to leave for the craggy West Fjords of Iceland,for the thinly populated and nearly deserted area.
