Concept The REKON 5 is based on the original Dave C FPV MiniLongRange design This five inch platform is an evolution of the MicroLongRange concept adapted to carry more payload Like its smaller 4 cousin this 5 platform can reach flight times of over 25 minutes while being very quiet efficient and relatively low cost compared to 7 quads that are usually used for long range flights The main advantage of 5 compared to the 4 is the ability to carry loads like GoPros and Lithium Ion batteries without affecting flight performance and noise level too much On top of that the cruising speed is increased and the ability to do acrobatic freestyle maneuvers is noticeably improved This platform can also be used with a wider variety of batteries depending on the intended use 850 1800mAh on the 4S version and 550 1300mAh on the 6S version will work without issues Both versions are also compatible with 3000mAh 4S Li Ion packs if you are looking for maximum flight time Frame Design The REKON 5 features an innovative frame design using single piece front and rear arms locked by an aluminum bolt The bolt is used to create a strong and stiff center section of the frame locking the arms and de coupling forces from the rest of the frame This allows the use of use very light M2 hardware and thin carbon plates on the other parts of the frame reducing the overall weight for maximum efficiency On top of that the bolt makes it possible to apply much more torque and it s not prone
