Green Architecture

The author, James Wines, is Founder, Creative Director, and President of SITE Environmental Design in New York City. His work is internationally known for its commitment to an integration of the arts and the fusion of buildings, landscapes, and public spaces with their surrounding contexts. Since the mid-1970s, James Wines has developed and taught environmental design programs at colleges and universities in the USA, Europe, and Asia. He has taken an increasingly active role in the international green movement through projects, lectures, conferences, and writings, including ARCHITECTURE AS ART (1980) and DE-ARCHITECTURE (1987). In 1999, he was elected Dean of Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania. Published by TASCHEN about whom it is said, they produce "the most exquisite books on the planet".
