Frozen Synapse contains online multiplayer, a single-player campaign, and a skirmish mode, the ultimate strategic game on Mac and PC. The game introduces classic gameplay merged with a modern interface and brings the simultaneous turn-based strategy genre bang up-to-date and lets the player give accurate, detailed orders to its squad. The player has to plan the moves, test them out, and then hit the "Prime" button, after which both the player's and his opponent's turns are executed simultaneously. The competitive yet intuitive multiplayer and massive single-player campaign ensure that Frozen Synapse gives the player hours and hours of thrill and delight. The game is set in a dystopian cyberpunk future where the player assumes the role of a strategic commander assisting a resistance faction in a struggle against a corporate governance regime which has used its power to manipulate the populace or is pitted against other commanders (human or AI) in a multiplayer or skirmish setting. Frozen Synapse is a simulation game played as asynchronous turns by each player. Each player takes control over a small number of soldiers equipped with a variety of weapons. The goal in most single-player missions is to defeat the other squad, but there are also escort missions and hostage protection. Multiplayer game modes include area protection, last-man-standing deathmatch, and hostage extraction.
