The main plot of New Vegas is set in the year 2281, 204 years after dropping the bombs and four years after the events of Fallout 3. Although it is not a direct successor, it does bring back several of Fallout 2's features. The Courier is the character that players control. The Courier is attacked, robbed of the package, shot, and then buried in a cemetery while bringing it across the Mojave Desert to the city of New Vegas, which is now Las Vegas. In the end, the Courier is exhumed and heals from their wound. The Courier then sets out on a Quest to track down their would-be assassin and retrieve the package, making allies and foes among various warring factions along the way. The caravan is a card Game where players can play with specific individuals outside the casinos. It was created for the Game and had its own rules.
