Don’t Let Your Brain Go Numb: Regaining Power Through Resilience

I was going along on this journey and came to notice that I had no joy, nor did I have the ability to create happiness for myself. My life could have been described using the first stanza of Sade’s song “Soldier of Love.” The lyrics are, “I’ve lost the use of my heart, but I’m still alive.” My heart had been snuffed out, and I felt helpless and depleted. I was numb. Life will bring its stuff, and I want to help with the process of being prepared when the tornadic winds blow.
