Chess Not Checkers: Game Over

For almost two decades Trill’s life was on borrowed time. Each day of life as he knew it was one day closer to judgement day. You see, Trill lived life by no one’s rules but his own. Whatever Trill wanted, Trill took and he didn’t care what had to be done to get it. Lives were touched in ways they would never recover from, all at the hand of Trill. But he forgot one simple rule, life was much like a chess game; there were pawns, knights and rooks spread across the board, all strategically placed to protect the kingdom. But there were also bishops and queens designed to protect their king as well. For Trill he would wish he had remembered this fact as life comes full circle and he is faced with enemies he never even realized existed. Rasheem is on a mission to vindicate the death of his father, who almost 20 years before fell prey to Trill’s hunger to win the game. But Rasheem learned early on the meaning of life and how it was much like a game of chess. Sitting back all through his young life and into adulthood would pay off for one man and be a costly lesson for the other. As Rasheem plans his attack on Trill he finds that he wasn’t alone in his quest and in the end it is Trill who never had a chance. Once his allies rally around him Trill finds himself in a corner he created and there is no turning back, no do overs, no retries...after almost thirty years of destruction it is finally ‘game over’ for Trill and his treacherous ways. Checkmate!
