The Boss PSA-230ES Power Supply is a replacement for the previous PSA-240 model. The perfect PSU to power your Boss effects. With this new improved model, the power cable length is increased to almost 10 feet, giving you plenty of room to move around. Boss PSA-230ES Power Supply Upgraded Model This smaller, upgraded version delivers 9v DC at up to 500mA (previous version PSA-240 was only 200mA) and accommodates more than one Boss effects pedal to be connected and operated at the same time by using power supply link cables. The Boss PSA-230ES Power Supply can be used in conjunction with the Boss TU-2, LS-2 or NS-2 and Boss daisy chain lead to power up to 7 of your Boss pedals. The PSA230 power supply output is regulated and smoothed, which means that the voltage and current delivery are constant and almost no hum is produced. A regulated DC power supply with very low hum is essential when using guitar effects pedals, especially distortion pedals. Hum bucker pick-ups reduce hum - hence the name - while single coil pick-ups are more prone to hum. To reduce hum, especially when using distortion pedals, try switching to the hum bucker pick-up if your guitar has one, or switch to two single coil pick-ups combined if your guitar has single coils. An example of a hum bucker guitar is the Gibson Les Paul and a single coil guitar is the Fender Stratocaster.
