Architecture Through the Ages

The aim of this book --designed for the general reader as well as for the architect and the student, is to show that buildings are not isolated objects existing arbitrarily in one or another of the recognizable set "styles", but rather the inevitable results of the ways of living, governing, worshiping, and doing business in practice at the time they were built.
