An Illustrated and Illuminated Manuscript of the Gospel of Thomas [signed] [first edition]

"An Illustrated and Illuminated Manuscript of the Gospel of Thomas": written in Italic, Uncial and Lombardic calligraphy with 65 color illustrations and 45 gold leaf illuminations. These copies faithfully reproduce an original manuscript completed by Carol Nichols in 2006. The goldleaf illustrations are of Coptic words taken from the 350 CE Gospel found in 1945. Translation of the gospel is by the noted Early Christian Scholar and Coptic linguist, Dr. Marvin Meyer, and is taken from his 2005 book, " The Gnostic Gospels of Jesus." Translation from the Coptic to English is used by permission from Dr. Meyer and from HarperCollins, San Francisco. The book is hardcover, sewn, with hand designed end papers, and an attractive dust cover. It is self published by the author, Carol Nichols, and is limited to 1,000 numbered, signed copies. The Gospel of Thomas was probably first written before 100 CE. It is reputed by some to be one of the earliest Christian gospels. It contains 114 short sayings and parables, and is typical of early "wisdom" literature. It has never been published in this format. This is the first manuscript rendition in 1,600 years.
