Alvin Fernald is on the air! Ever since Alvin Fernald started inventing things, like the giant slingshot that propelled his little sister onto the lawn of the Baptist Church, he's been one of the most famous kids in Riverton. Now the manager of the local TV station has offered him his own newscasting spot. Alvin gets help from his best friend Shoie, who turns out to be a unique sportscaster. and his little sister Daphne (also known as the Pest) stuns the audience with her accurate "weather toe" predictions.
