Advanced Gas Turbine Cycles

Advanced Gas Turbine Cycles concentrates mainly on the thermodynamics of gas turbine cycles. The search for high gas turbine efficiency has led to many variations on the simple gas turbine, and these are described in detail. But more recently work has been directed towards gas turbines which produce less carbon dioxide, and also plants from which the carbon dioxide can be extracted and stored; a special chapter is devoted to such cycles. The economics of electrical power generation is also briefly discussed, together with the implications of a carbon tax.
