You are about to experience the actual First-Degree Murder trial of an innocent black man twenty-three years ago. It will take you through the twists and turns of his roller-coaster adventure and how his early life experience set him up for a trial where he is facing life in prison without the possibility of parole. It will give you a first-hand glimpse of his predicament as well as the anxieties of the lawyers--both defense and prosecution--in such a circumstance, as well as the heartaches of the victims and the defendant's families. Although based on an actual case, the names of the characters have been changed and any relationship to any real person currently alive is purely coincidental. Many of the trial scenes are adapted from testimony in the actual trial of this matter, and some of the more powerful and relevant testimony and arguments are quoted verbatim. Most of the details of this adventure are accurate, however, I have taken considerable creative license in developing characters as well as scenes, with the idea of making the characters more human and relatable to the human condition. I have always been fascinated by the psychopath in this society and the destruction, confusion and heartache they cause so many people. Although studies have shown them to comprise only 1% (probably higher) of the population, the cost of their destruction is immense. Some of them are our business leaders, politicians or just the man or woman next door. Many of them are truly "wolves in sheep's clothing" looking constantly for a body to prey upon. This story is about such a person and about the destructiveness of racial prejudice to the souls of the person discriminated against and the discriminator.
