When I was a kid, my favorite comics were short on text and long on the concept of "A picture's worth a thousand words." The WORST? Strips with tons of copy and political messages... I didn't need lessons from the Sunday funnies, just some cool illustrations and a laugh not bloody likely with Marmaduke, The Family Circus, and Love Is... mucking up the works . Eventually, I learned to appreciate the skill of comic-strip letterers who squeezed in way too much text but somehow kept it neat, legible, and consistent. Today, fonts with "Comic" in their names get a bad rap. It's time for a new believable handwriting typeface that reads well at small sizes and in big copy blocks; has a little more style; and includes multiple language support.
