This is a biography of Lee B. Stern, a well-known Chicagoan who became involved in the futures industry at the Chicago Board of Trade in 1949. He is the founder of the Chicago Sting, North American Soccer League champions in1981 and 1984. Lee also played a major role in bringing the World Cup to Chicago. He was elected to the U.S. Soccer Hall of Fame in 2003. Lee has also been an owner director of the Chicago White Sox since 1975. The book includes interviews with 20 individuals including Jerry Reinsdorf, chairman of the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bulls, John McDonough, president of the Chicago Blackhawks, Clive Toye, former president of the New York Cosmos and Chicago Sting, Charlie Carey, chairman of the Chicago Board of Trade, Dan Flynn, CEO of the U.S. Soccer Federation, and Willy Roy, former coach of the Chicago Sting, as well as several of Lee's family members and friends along with associates who worked with him over the years.
