The Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) is proud to present our Guide to Due Process and Campus Justice, an updated edition of our Guide to Due Process and Fair Procedure on Campus, published in 2003.As a student, you should be aware of your right to due process-and how to assert and defend it. Being well informed about your protections from arbitrary and unfair decisionmaking is crucially important, both during your time at college and in the larger world that awaits you beyond campus.This newly revised Guide, the latest in our series of Guides to Student Rights on Campus, is intended to provide students with a clear, effective primer on the right to due process. But it is not only for students. Faculty, administrators, parents, alumni, friends, citizens, advisors, and attorneys who care about students' rights should understand the threats to due process on campuses nationwide and the means of combating those threats.
