The Dwelling Place

Cissie Brodie is a fighter, but this may be too much. Her mother and father are gone. She is left alone with her several brothers and sisters, and her whole sense of duty pushes her to find an answer that will save the family from the workhouse. Enter the local Lord, a man not above extending his help to the deserving poor...but what is the price? The alternative is a man who declares he is a true protector...but Cissie senses his motives are less than pure.
